Planning for identified risks

All major incidents are by definition unexpected. However, there are a number of risks to the County, both man made and natural, for which some planning can take place.

Plans are maintained by Emergency Planning Officers throughout the County. These plans can be categorised into two major groups: Multi Agency Plans, and Single Agency Plans and these can be sub-divided into site-specific and hazard-specific plans.

Multi Agency Plans:

These are plans, such as for Animal Diseases, etc., drawn up by and for the various agencies represented within the Suffolk Resilience Forum.

Single Agency Plans:

These plans are drawn up by individual agencies (Police, Local Authority, etc.) for internal use and relate only to them.

Site-specific Plans:

These are plans that relate to a particular place, such as Sizewell, etc.

Hazard-specific Plans

These are plans that relate to a particular risk, such as Flooding, etc. These can include "Event-specific Plans" such as the Lowestoft Air Festival, etc.
